As we start a new year we often start with reflection of where we have been, where we are and where we are going. Instead of looking at our lives this year, lets go to the very heart of the query - Who am I, Why am I here and Where am I going? Wow, what profound thoughts. I'm not sure that we can start the year any deeper than this and yet and believers, should we not be able to answer these questions easily. But if it was that easy, would it be worth deep contemplation?
Who am I? Can it be more simple. I am Hugh Allen Davis Jr. But I am so much more than my name. I am the son of Hugh and Elizabeth Davis. I am the brother of Don Davis. I am the husband of Irene. I am employee of Devita and Associates. I have been a student, a minister, a structural designer, a grandson, a nephew . . . an the list goes on and on. Each one of us can come up with a similar list and yet . . . is this who I am?
Who am I? I am created child of God. I am part of a family so much bigger than my earthly family. I am part of a group so much bigger than my work, my friends, my community.
As this week progresses; we'll dig a bit deeper. But for now, I've given you something to think about. These have been jsut a few thoughts from a cluttered mind. My God bless you.
